Things that you will need to bring with you and items that you will need                          to have at home for your new arrival

  • Bring a crate for your little one.  It should not be too large or too small.  If a crate is too large, your little one will divide it up into two rooms, the bedroom and the bathroom.

  • Bring a roll of paper towel for just in case there are any accidents.  We always travel with a roll of paper towel, a spray bottle of Odo-Ban, small plastic bags (for trash), clean bedding and a large plastic bag just in case there is any soiled bedding.

  • A leash and collar would be wise to have along also.  We usually travel with slip leads.

  • I usually travel with some wet wash cloths also for just in case.

  • I usually do not need most of the stuff that I travel with for clean up, but I am a firm believer in being prepared for Just In Case....

  • I am sure that your new family member would love it if you brought him/her a new toy too!!

  • Your puppy is currently eating Mother & Babydog Formula.  They usually eat around 1 cup per day at this age.  Some prefer 1/3 cup 3 times a day while others prefer 1/2 cup 2 times per day.  This can be adjusted according to your dogs matabolism.  This is a guess to give you some guidelines.

  • You should have purchased the Royal Canin Puppy/Chiot.  This comes in 2.5 lb bags, 13 lb bags and 30 lb bags.  We recommend the 13 lb bag.  This is what you will change the puppy over to once you get home.  Just make all food changes gradually as too sudden will cause digestive upsets.

  • At 8 months of age, you can change your puppy over to the Royal Canin Small/Petit Formula.  Small dogs can be changed over to adult food sooner than large breed dogs.
